AI Bird Identification Data Processing Policy

This policy applies when you manually ask Tickwing to identify a bird in an eligible Moment. Tickwing uses the video only to prepare and operate the requested bird-species identification, return AI candidates, prevent abuse, troubleshoot the request, and maintain a limited audit record.

AI identification is optional. Choosing Not now creates no AI job and sends no video to FeatherID.

Tickwing orchestrates the request through its Moments AI service in Singapore. The video is then sent to FeatherID, a third-party bird-identification provider, for processing in mainland China. No automatic fallback to another region is authorized under this version.

This cross-region path means the submitted video and associated request data move from Singapore to mainland China for the requested identification.

Tickwing creates a short-lived staging copy for AI processing. The staging copy and extracted frames are separate from any canonical Moment video or private copy you have chosen to keep in Tickwing.

The AI staging copy and extracted frames are deleted as soon as practical after the job reaches a terminal state. Twenty-four hours is the exceptional maximum for failed cleanup, retry, or incident recovery. Customer media is not included in backups.

Deleting AI staging media does not delete a canonical Moment video or another private copy retained in Tickwing. Those copies follow their own product deletion controls.

Identification results may be retained for up to 30 days. Request metadata may be retained for up to 90 days. Redacted operational and audit logs may be retained for up to 180 days. These categories must not contain media, raw credentials, upload capabilities, receipts, object keys, private URLs, or authorization headers.

You may request deletion through Tickwing support or the privacy-request path available in Tickwing. After Tickwing verifies the request, online AI data covered by the request will be deleted within 72 hours unless retention is required by applicable law or an active security, fraud, or dispute investigation. Customer media remains excluded from backups.

FeatherID results are AI-generated candidates and may be incomplete or wrong. Tickwing does not change the Moment species automatically. You must review and explicitly confirm a candidate before Tickwing writes the species. Only a safely mapped, user-confirmed candidate may link to Birding Hub.

Tickwing records your account, the applicable consent and policy versions, the candidate bundle hash, the target request, and the server acceptance time. The receipt does not contain the video or provider credentials.

Tickwing will ask again when the consent or policy version changes, or when a material change affects the purpose, provider, processing region, data categories, retention, deletion terms, or your available controls.

When you request AI bird identification, Tickwing processes an eligible Moment video or one Live JPEG image solely to prepare and perform identification, return a result, prevent abuse, troubleshoot the request, and maintain necessary technical records.

Identification is optional. Declining creates no new AI request and sends no media to FeatherID. Recognition itself does not create or change a Moment, Tick, Sighting, or Feed post.

Tickwing orchestrates the request through its Moments AI service in Singapore. The requested video or JPEG image is sent to FeatherID, a third-party bird-identification provider, for processing in mainland China. This version authorizes no automatic fallback to another region.

The submitted media and associated request data move from Singapore to mainland China for the requested identification.

Tickwing uses a short-lived AI staging copy and, for video, extracted frames. A Live JPEG is temporary identification media and does not automatically become user-saved content. These media are separate from a canonical Moment video or other content you actively save.

AI staging media and extracted frames are deleted as soon as practical after a terminal outcome, normally within 24 hours of first staging, and a retry does not extend that target. If a storage or infrastructure failure prevents deletion within 24 hours, we stop accepting new AI requests that would depend on the affected storage, escalate the incident for manual handling, and delete the remaining media as soon as the failure is resolved, recording when deletion completed. Customer media is not included in backups.

Server staging and private temporary files on your device have distinct cleanup paths. This policy does not claim that an offline device's local files have already been physically deleted. User-saved content follows its own product lifecycle.

Identification results may be retained for up to 30 days, request metadata for up to 90 days, and redacted operational and audit logs for up to 180 days. You may request deletion through Tickwing support or its privacy-request path. After verification, covered online AI data will be deleted within 72 hours unless applicable law or an active security, fraud, or dispute investigation requires retention. Customer media remains excluded from backups.

FeatherID results can be incomplete or wrong. Live shows only the provider's original Top 1 result or no conclusion; it does not require you to confirm a species merely to view the result.

Only your explicit confirmation to add a Tick or publish a Sighting writes those Live birding records. For Moment video, the existing separate review and confirmation rule continues: an AI candidate does not automatically change the Moment species.

AI identification may not always be accurate. Use it as a guide only.

This consent covers both Moment video and Live JPEG. A prior video-only receipt does not authorize an image. Tickwing asks again when the bundle version or a material processing term changes. A current accepted receipt may be used across your signed-in devices; revocation blocks new requests but does not erase the duty to finish cleanup of already accepted work.

AI 暂存媒体及视频帧在任务终态后尽快删除，通常不晚于首次暂存后 24 小时；重试不会延长这一期限。如因存储或基础设施故障无法在 24 小时内完成删除，我们会停止接受依赖受影响存储的新 AI 请求，将事件升级为人工处理，并在故障解除后尽快删除剩余媒体、记录实际完成删除的时间。客户媒体不进入备份。

服务端暂存与设备上的私有临时文件有不同清理路径。本政策不宣称离线设备上的本地文件已被物理删除。用户主动保存的内容遵循独立产品生命周期。

识别结果最长保留 30 天，请求元数据最长 90 天，脱敏运行与审计日志最长 180 天。这些必要技术记录不得包含媒体、原始凭据、上传 capability、对象键、私有 URL 或 Authorization header。

同意 receipt 记录账号、同意与政策版本、bundle hash 和服务端接受时间，不包含客户媒体或供应商凭据。

你可通过 Tickwing 支持渠道或隐私请求入口申请删除。经核实后，覆盖的在线 AI 数据将在 72 小时内删除；适用法律或正在进行的安全、欺诈、争议调查要求保留的情况除外。客户媒体仍不进入备份。

FeatherID 结果可能不完整或不准确。Live 只展示供应商原始 Top 1 结果或无结论；查看结果无需先确认鸟种。

只有你明确确认加入 Tick 或发布 Sighting 后，才写入对应 Live 观鸟记录。Moment 视频仍遵循既有的独立查看与确认规则：AI 候选不会自动修改 Moment 鸟种。

AI 识别结果不一定总是准确，请仅将其作为参考。

本次同意同时覆盖 Moment 视频与 Live JPEG。旧的视频专用 receipt 不授权图片。bundle 版本或重要处理条款变化时，Tickwing 会再次请求同意；同账号其他已登录设备可使用当前有效 receipt。撤回会阻止新请求，但不消除已受理任务的清理责任。
